Repair of garden wall, South Darley, Derbyshire

This wall is part of a long wall that forms the boundary for a number of houses. It was in imminent danger of collapsing, and indeed, when we started to take it down it did just that – although in a controlled way! One section seemed to be caving inwards, which was a mystery until we discovered that the wall was almost hollow, with very little ‘fill’, or ‘packing’.
